Was sent to interview him in his lounge about 20yrs ago. Had a budgerigar which would shit into a teacup whenever he asked it to. Which was frequently.

I don’t think he liked his wife.

Baseball Ground always looked the worst pitch.
Most of the season it never seemed to have a blade of grass visible.

Recall that the result at Hereford meant that the game led the highlights and was the kick start of the career of John Motson who did the game.
Poor Ronnie Radford had to live with that responsibility

I was there, not quite 11 years old and yes, wearing a parka.
Arguably the greatest goal in FACup history.

Something I'd forgotten - the other goal scorer for Hereford (Ricky George) recently did two years in prison for money laundering

Another teammate of Radford's around that time was goalkeeper David Icke

From a bygone age when the big team's actually got embarrassed when knocked out of the cup by a lower league team!

A lightning bolt from the football gods. And a part of what makes the 3rd round of the FA Cup so special.

RIP Ronnie.

RIP Ronnie.

I trust all those fans invading the pitch were given lifetime bans. No room for passion.

RIP, not to be confused with John "give us a goal raddy" Radford, Arsenal's fourth highest goal scorer of all time. Joined West Ham played 28 scored 0. It's the West Ham way.
